MY WAY STUDIO

A Warsaw-based production company that believes in the power of documentaries exploring socially important themes in an artistic way which are still able to reach a wide audience. The core team members of the MY WAY STUDIO are Katarzyna Ślesicka and Anna Stylińska, supported by the company’s co-founder, Katarzyna Kosicka-Polak.

MY WAY STUDIO is committed to projects capturing zeitgeist and exploring individual stories of heroines or heroes in search of timeless messages. We look for unique, resolute voices which previously often lacked representation on screen, were considered taboo or simply irrelevant. We have a weak spot for documentaries with a pinch of comedy and drama, which, while dealing with difficult topics, offer a flicker of hope, as we believe that humor can be a weapon of survival in times of crisis. Often our projects attract teams with a majority of women, although we are also very keen to work with men.

Currently, in addition to the feature-length Viaplay documentary “Abortion Dream Team” by Karolina Lucyna Domagalska, which had its Polish premiere at Millennium Docs Against Gravity, the Studio has previously produced “Vika!” by Agnieszka Zwiefka, a Polish-German-Finnish co-production with HBO which was nominated to the Polish Film Awards “Eagles”.

We are also working on a Polish-German feature-length documentary Home Movie by Anu Czerwiński and several international co-productions as well as first feature projects.

KATARZYNA ŚLESICKA has always combined film production with education. Hence her several affiliations: founder and producer at My Way Studio; deputy director at the Andrzej Wajda Center for Film Culture, where she is responsible for film education. From 2005 to 2015, Katarzyna was a managing director of the Wajda School and Wajda Studio and a producer of dozens of films made at the time by the Studio where she also founded the first training course for film producers in Poland. It remains a mystery how Katarzyna manages to wear so many hats at once while finding time for family, friends and travels. Perhaps it’s because the phrase “can’t do” is the one she refused to learn.

ANNA STYLIŃSKA graduated from philosophy, photography and film studies (Universite Paris X). She worked as a co-director, screenwriter, production manager, first AD, cinema promoter and a film festival organizer learning about the film process from many different angles, until she found versatility and proficiency in film production. Her feature-length debut “Lessons of Love” co-produced by HBO premiered at IDFA (2019) and traveled to 60 festivals around the world, won numerous awards and was nominated for the Polish Film Awards. She is a graduate of EAVE, ExOriente, IDFA Academy, DocLab Poland and DokIncubator. She loves surfing and spends winters by the ocean.
